Ma> Thanks for answering that question about Pedi-cabs, I've been
Ma> wracking my brain trying to figure that one out. Where ARE you
Ma> anyway? I've been around a lot of the U.S. and I've never seen
I operate in Phoenix, and in Tempe. There are other fleets in
operation in parts of Florida, Baltimore, New York City, Denver,
San Diego, San Francisco, and somewhere in Oregon.
We are getting more popular as people realize the benefits of a
form of urban transportation that doesn't destroy the city it
operates in.
Ma> anything like this. It must keep you in shape - healthy I mean. My
Ma> husband just had a heart attack and reading your post I couldn't help
Ma> but think that you probably never will, doing all that peddling.
Healthy is relative. I still drink two pots of coffee and smoke
two packs a day. And my diet ain't all that great either. I just
really like to ride. And once you know how, it ain't that hard to
do, even while carrying four hundred pounds of cargo.
Ma> Thanks for sharing what you did once you got clean and sober. I've
Ma> said this to others here; however, I'll say it again. I love to hear
Ma> what people do with their lives once they get clean and sober - it's a
Ma> power of example to me. In my case, I married a person who is also
I spent my first sixteen years of recovery going from one dead end
job to another. I bailed out on several real good ones that had a
future due to unresolved character defects.
It ain't like I just showed up, figgured out the right thing to
do, and did it.
Ma> sober and who works for a living and is a darn decent guy - unlike the
Ma> fellow-losers I hooked up with while active and in early sobriety. I
It's amazing how people, like water, seek their own level. I've
outgrown or just left several different groups in my time around
here.
Ma> even - much to my shock and amazement - joined a church and got
Ma> involved in it. (FOR ME only, I know it's not everybody's thing
Ma> either) And as a result of these two facts I'm doing things I never
Ma> thought I could do before. My Dad has cancer and my husband is slowly
Ma> recovering from a heart attack - and I am able to be there for them,
Ma> not to be drinking or drugging somewhere gathering free drinks or
Ma> drugs perhaps on their story and their sorrow.
Dig it. Being clean and sober does open alot of doors, make
possible many new and groovy things.
Ma> To me YET - You're Eligible Too - is useful for Sobriety and the good
Ma> things we don't YET have in life but want, as well as for the bad
Ma> stuff that will happen if we drink or drug. Your business sounds like
Ma> one of the positive YETS I so like to hear. I find them very
Yes, the "yets" can go both ways.
Ma> encouraging. I believe most people can attain these kinds of things,
Ma> according to their Higher Powers' "will" for them or fate or whatever,
Ma> if they are willing to prepare for them, work for them and follow
Ma> whatever inspiration they receive in the 11th step. Thanks for
Ma> sharing. This kind of stuff is always encouraging to me.
I'm glad that my story has been of benefit to you.
