-> DG> Klesko (let's face it, whiffs too much,
-> That comes with the territory.
Perhaps.
-> DG> can't even come close to hitting lefties,
-> Give him more chances.
Has he not gotten plenty of time as the full-time left fielder in recent
years to show he cannot and never will hit lefties??
-> DG> weak defensively,
-> Not for a first baseman.
Even Jose Offerman makes a good first baseman.
-> No it won't. UNPROFESSIONALISM will but not chemistry. The Big Red
-> Machine managed to win a couple of series despite the fact that there
-> was some real hatred among several of the players (that still shows
-> today) and the same thing can be said of the Oakland As of that same
-> era. If the Dodgers can't let go of their problems once they cross
-> the white lines then they have no place in MLB and explains why
-> they're always the "preseason" champions (They can't even win their
-> own division when they're favored).
The Dodgers problem is indeed chemistry, ON THE FIELD. The Big Red Machines,
and Yaknees and A's of the 70's had their share of off-the-field, in the
clubhouse problems, but when they stepped on that field, they were 25 guys
PLAYING with chemistry and working as a TEAM. The Dodgers do not do this.
Have not for a few years now, and yes, this is CHEMISTRY. I don't call what
players do on their off time chemistry, I mean, these guys don't have to be
friends or sleep with each other. It's ON the field that counts, and on the
field, there are members of the Dodgers who play for themselves and only
themselves, this is what I man by NO CHEMISTRY.
-> And you'd be wrong again. Without Rodman, Pippen (and at one time,
-> Horace Grant), Michael Jordan would still be looking for his first
-> ring
Michael Jordan does not deserve a ring.
-> Another fallacy. Michael Jordan GAVE AWAY more of his salary just so
-> that the Bulls could sign their own and free agents. He could have
-> made 3 times as much as he did when he was playing the first time
-> around (Until he signed that $25+ mil contract, he was never the
-> highest paid player in the NBA, just on his team).
Team players DO NOT ask for more money than the ENTIRE salary cap. Team
players DO NOT sit there on national television 15 minutes after winning
their fifth title and say "Yeah, I'll be back if they give me $40 million".
Team players DO not sit there on national television after winning their
second title and say "My supporting cast did a great job tonight". Michael
Jordan is the most pompus, selfish, arrogant, egomaniacal athlete I have EVER
seen in ANY sport, and I have zero, I repeat, ZERO respect for the man. I do
NOT respect people who think they are the center of their team, sport,
universe, WHATEVER.. I do not respect athletes who go on TV and declare
themselves the greatest ever (and he has, I have FLAT out heard the man call
himself the greatest basketball player of all time). He has spent 12 seasons
playing for himself, his money, his fame, his stats, whatever. The ONLY
reason he has EVER tried to make the team better was so that Michael Jordan
could have his ring, not for his team. I do not respect him, I do not buy
this "Jordan is the greatest ever" garbage, and the day he finally leaves the
NBA, I will throw a party. He has taught an entire generation of young
basketball fans and players that hotdoging, showboating and self-centeredness
is the way to go in basketball, and not only do I despise him as a player and
human being, he has single-handedly ruined the NBA. Down with Michael Jordan!
-> And more World Championships than this bunch of Dodgers..Gee, let's
-> see that's 5 championships for the Bulls -- 6 for the Dodgers
-> (including Brooklyn) and the Bulls haven't been around for as long.
Despite the fact Jordan and his "supporting cast" play in a watered-down,
declining league.
-> DG> puzzle is definately there.. But these missing pieces:
-> DG> Left-handed starter, left-handed slugger, center field and
-> DG> leadoff (what else is
->
-> These ARE problems not some so-called chemistry.
See above. There IS a chemistry problem, and not "so-called". I for one
noticed this problem YEARS before the media started bringing it up,
particularly with the likes of Eric Karros, Delino DeShields, Jose
