PM> Ah! OK. Can you do a dummy multiplayer mode just to see what it's
 PM> like? I know Duke3d could...
Sure you can. Use the "SW ?" command in DOS to find out just what the
command is. There's supposed to be a "Bot mode" where you can actually face
off against the computer (as with the Duke 3D Plutonium Pak), though whether
it's actually part of the shareware version is questionable.
PM> Yeah, I gotta hear about the rail gun.
PM> But hey, the next shareware version will be out soon, so who knows
PM> what may be in there. Wish it didn't take an hour to download. :(
There won't be a rail gun, that's for sure. 3D Realms certainly wants to
be careful about how much they let people experience - missing 3 of the
cooler weapons and 18 other levels certainly does the trick.
PM> The full game is supposed to be about 57megs installed. More than
PM> Duke, but far less than Redneck Rampage's 150megs. Ach, 57's liveable.
PM> And the game play per meg will be worth it. :)
But on the other hand, Redneck Rampage had huge levels, with high-res
custom textures up the Yin-Yang (pardon the reference). I think that's the
main reason Shadow Warrior is so "small": its textures are lower-resolution,
and its levels are a bit smaller.
