Well, without stirring notes from the moderator of this being off-topic and
not a for-sale area, if you'd be interested in a hand color 24 bit scanner
with scan-align pad, extension cable and scanner holder (like a mouse holder)
I'm selling this one and can either FAX or netmail you the info on the 
canner
and software. I want $24 less (for the whole package)than your friend paid
for just scanner and software, and the Damark scanner is not 24 bit/800 dpi.
I have much bigger (and more) work to put the flatbed through, so the
hand scanner is no longer feasable, timewise, for doing photoCd picture
conversions. Just leave me a fax number or net/node number I can send you
information.

It takes a little getting used to, but a hand scanner is cost effective for
the occasional job, such as clip art scanning, OCR, etc. I have too much work
now for that. Do some checking and let me know.
