-> Those little feathers are a bother. I only have 4 birds inside and
-> they promised me they would do their best to keep me using the
-> vacumn.
Oh, Dear YES! Between the feathers, the static flying, and flinging his
food everywhere, the Kookyroo makes more of a mess than two or three
parrots!
And yes, both sexes bow and coo. That's not a reliable test when there
are no mates. I use their behaviour on the nest when approached by
another critter, (or your hand) The spread tail, hunkering down
submissive indicates mine is female. I just really don't WANT two dozen
of the things, as much as I like having one. If I'd gone ahead and
gotten two of similar sexes at the outset it would have been better, but
now she's not gonna accept another female I don't think.
-> to do the cooing? It seems to still be a busy time for the mating of
-> pigeons. I was in the park the other day and under the over pass that
-> passes over the park I could hear the sounds of many little chicks
-> begging their parents for food. I hope the little guys make it
Yeah, pigeons mate LONG!
Our mockingbirds in the back yard are just finishing raising a second
clutch. Dive bombing the cats etc. That's not too unusual at our
latitudes. Wild parrots here nest year round, but don't lay eggs every
year. Strange, natures way...... Our wild conure flock has abdicated
into Mexico it seems. Hope the dove hunters don't wipe them out. Over
there you shoot whatever flies.
Hope y'all don't freeze up there! One of my friends in Denver is snowed
in, with waist deep drifts against his outer doors. Brrrrr!
