What you can do is when you make the actual switch in your configuration
file is let the other feeds mail get tossed into bad message area. Then
when you want to toss the messages from the other feed, do a global change
in your config file and retoss those bad message, then a global change
back.

I have done this before and did not miss any mail. Just make sure you can
globally change the node number of the feeds you are switching from.
