-> NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Remember what the Chicage White Sox will Bill
-> Veck did to the Yankees in 1959. The White Sox had no power back then
-> but they just kept getting small base hits and the runs took care of
-> themselves.
With a little more help in the pitching staff, a healthy Naehring, John
Valentin used to second and hitting like he did in 1995, some help in the
outfield (I think O'Leary is good, but Bragg needs to go, sorry), and a happy
Mo Vaughn, this team could make some noise.. Nomar Garciaparra is the real
deal at short: Speed, defense, average and power, and as far as I'm
concerned, had the rookie of the year wrapped up by July... Definately one of
the best overall shortstops in baseball, maybe even the best... Martinez will
pitch well, and while he may not carry the pitching staff himself, he'll not
only bring fans to the game but shows the fans that Boston is truly serious
about returning to the top of the AL....
-> I can't remember who won the World Series that year.
1959?? The Dodgers, winning their first Series ever in Los Angeles... =)
