Hello Everybody,

Toutatis, that most famous of all asteroids, is due to rendezvous with
the Earth this coming September 29.  And on that date, according to some
scientists, Toutatis will actually smack the Earth.  Of course, those
scientists suggest there is only a 1 in 4 chance of Toutatis actually
doing that, but all the same, if it does smack the Earth the result
will be truly devastating.

By now, the whole world is aware of the two rovers that landed on the
surface of Mars, pictures of the Martian surface having been shown on
television for all to see.  But to date, no pictures of the two moons
of Mars, Phobos and Deimos, have been shown.  Why is that?  Well, the
only logical conclusion that one can make is that the two moons have
escaped the orbit of Mars and are on the way to Earth.

While Toutatis is 2.4 miles across, and not symmetrical, the two rogue
moons of Mars are much bigger.  Deimos is roughly 5 miles in diameter,
and Phobos is roughly 10 miles in diameter.  Most scientists concur that
an asteroid about 6 miles in diameter smacked into the Earth, just off
the Yucatan, some 65 million years ago, thus causing the extinction of
the dinosaurs.  While Toutatis would cause widespread damage, even that
of a catastrophic level, it would not necessarily cause the extinction
of mankind.  But Deimos would be tantamount to an asteroid of the same
size that killed off the dinosaurs.  And if Phobos hit, not only would
mankind disappear, but so would all other forms of life on this planet.
Except possibly for bacteria.

The question is, what can be done to stop such rogue asteroids and moons
from striking the Earth?  Or is there anything that can be done?

If governments know that a rogue asteroid or moon is set to strike the
Earth, and that nothing can be done to protect the Earth, why is it that
we have not been told?  After all, there may be some things people can
do in order to protect themselves.  Just in case an asteroid or moon
happens to come this way.  But if only governments know about it, then
millions upon billions of people may die.  Needlessly.

It's time for folks to wake up and smell the roses.  Before everybody
is pushing up daisies.
