Yes. But there is historical precedent in other societies as well. Many of
the differences of gender have appeared with the advent of patriarchal
religions, such as christianity. Few non-Catholics would argue that the
Holy Roman Catholic Church is, and has ever been, a very political
organization.

Exactly. Evolution easily gets stuck at a local maxima, rather than
progressing towards a global maxima. It's like when you're training neural
networks.

If this world had only "well-adjusted" worker bees left, we'd be
pretty screwed if there came a time to rebuild everything.
