I wonder why...the weight thing is obvious coz poor euro immigrants got
confused into thinking a hundredweight was 100 pounds rather than the 8
stone it actually is.....

I mean if they couldn't learn to spell words such as colour & plough
then what hope persuading that a hundredweight was 112 pounds....?
