Personally I have found the best way to find someone worthy to chat with in those online places is to know him or her already. The people I chat with in Yahoo messenger are all those I have "met" in Fido. And then there's a couple real life friends and family members too. I don't do random chats. I think anybody who has had a bad experience with random chats knows it is best to leave your personal profile blank. Forget saying something like "just chat, no cybersex" is like offering raw meat to a shark. Don't advertise yourself at all. The current online messengers more or less promote themselves as dating services. You don't have to be in search of a date. If you just want to chat, that's fine! And as for 'profiles' you learn about each other as you message (type or talk.) That to me seems more natural and a surer way to really get to know somebody better. ........... snip (re xmas) BK> St. Nicholas. From Turkey.
