subject: Feature request

Hello Kees,

On Tuesday January 26 2016 21:57, you wrote to me:

Yes indeed, I filed a feature request because that is my preferred way of doing
things. Yes, from the POV of those who do not need it, it may be perceived as
contaminaton of the source. By that line of reasoning, every feature request
has to be denied. There will always be someone who does not need it and in
his/her perception it will be contimination of the source.

Compression was an issue in the POTS age. With today's abundance od bandwith
and the small bandwith demand of Fidonet, I do not consider compression a
useful addition to binkd. IOW, contamination of the source. Yet, now that a
version that supports it is available without interfering with my other needs,
I have installed it anyway. To humour those who consider it of advantage. From
a recent massage of your's in this area, I gleen that you are one of them.

So we will let the binkd team judge if my feature request has merits.

Cheers, Michiel
