| subject: | Post-AUP 5.5 WcReports problem |
Date: Wed, 15 May 2002 09:47:33 -0400 From: DAVE GOURD To: ALL Subject: Post-AUP 5.5 WcReports problem Newsgroups: win.server.wcreports Message-ID: X-Mailer: Wildcat! Interactive Net Server v7.0.454.5 Lines: 35 After performing the v5.5 AUP, when trying to run wcreports from our server I got the following error(in a popup window): "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" I was able to run wcreports remotely from workstations on the network, and all seemed normal until attempting to view any message from any conference under the messages tab of WcReports. I get a popup error of: "Runtime error "13" Type mismatch" Searching the server (NT 4.0 wkst sp6a) revealed mscomctl.ocx was not present. I placed a copy of the file from a network workstation (a win98 se machine) into the server's /system32/ folder and wcreports appears to work [normally?]. I still get the runtime error on the other workstations though, they are win95 and win98 OS machines. I searched the knowledge and message bases, the only reference to runtime errors I seem to find are for runtime 5 errors in the wcreports conference. Any ideas?
