OK - I am still looking at software myself so there is probably a lot of
stuff I am overlooking.  Basically, the capture board will place your
video onto a hard disk and you then process each frame for whatever
thing you need ( titles, image editing / morphing, etc... )
I am using Elastic Reality and their companion program TransJammer for
morphing and special effects and the video board I am getting ( miro )
comes with copies of Flying Fonts ( titling and SEG ) and Premiere
( video editing )

Great!  Much of the software is available mail order but it still adds
up quickly...
