subject: fun with LEDs

I recently picked up a copy of "Nuts & Volts" magazine, on
impulse, something I don't ordinarily get into, and was quite pleasantly
surprised. They've come a long way recently, compared to what they used
to be, and their focus has broadened quite a bit. About the single
biggest irritant was the fact that there were a few articles that were
"Part 2 of 2"...

Anyhow, there was an ad in there for a company that sold a bunch of
different parts. Lots of interesting ads, in fact, some of the gadgets
out there these days at quite reasonable prices are giving me an itch to
get back into playing with this technology. Anyhow, the ad in question
was the last one in there when I finished it up last night mentioned,
among other things, a deal where they offered 100 LEDs for $1.50! The
choice was 3 or 5mm, red or green (what, no amber? :-).

So I'm thinking about doing something with some blinking lights... :-)

Any of you guys have any ideas?
