OUr local paper had a satisfiing explanation on this technique shortly after I brought it up. And yes they start that fire so it's not aiming in the direction of the natural one. BUt the wind here can change on short notice. That's why it's so risky. :( BTW they say we are to have rain today but now it's off for tommorrow. Nobody believes 'them' anymore. We just say oh ho hum yeah right. Last time we got rain here about sin NE Texas it didn't even make it to the ground. It evaporates in mid air.
