Before this "peekaboo shares" SP2 thing, I used to use a Snap!
(SMB) as a repository.  Now the dir-refresh on that is so slow, I've
switched to one Win2k machine.  You might fire up an old box with 2000 and
try that.  Or NETBEUI.  Or goat entrails.
