I'm not sure if it (the creator here) is still working, but yes, the
user gets to choose between socks and dialup connections. 

I think if you are on the AUP program here the fee is $0.00.

I should update mine, but am in no big hurry - maybe after Christmas. I
used to drop a line to support and they would do something there to
activate the system or my access or something. I would then send in
files I created locally which were used to generate the custom package
for distribution.
