Cassette tape answering machine: we had one on which I put the section from 
Laurie Anderson's "Oh Superman" that goes: "(ha ha ha ha ha
ha ha ha ha ha ha 
ha ha ha ha ha) Hi...I'm not home right now...but if you want to leave a 
message, just start talking at the sound of the tone....ah...ha-ah."  That 
was great because we were six of us living in one house, so it made more 
sense than trying to get all of our names onto the message ("Hi, you have 
reached the home of Amy, Paul, Paul, Jerry, Dave, and Rachel...").  Well, 
okay, maybe it wasn't any shorter, but it was much more fun.
