Starfleet apparently *has* been building lots of new starship classes,
based on the evidence of new ship classes in First Contact, and the
apparent reactivation of the Defiant Class program.
I wonder if the Galaxy Class program is considered an experiment that
was unsuccessful.  I don't believe we have seen evidence of any other
ship class that is designed to have families in permanent residence.
Heck, they never even finished all of the decks of the Enterprise.  :-)
It may be that the proliferation of new ship designs is the end result
of the Warp 5 Speed Limit, with the new designs being less or non-
damaging to the fabric of space.
 OEO> I suspect we'll find out the names of the two new ones in the season 6
 OEO> opener.
It would be just like them *not* to tell us.  :-)
