Once upon a time, Randall Lane spoke thus to All:
RL> OK. I have just tried a new ADZ cpu in my daughter's computer. Her
RL> mainboard is a Soyo that does not support Enhanced AMD cpus, only the
RL> standard AMDs. I set it up as a AMD DX2/80 and shorted out the CLKMUL
RL> pin on the CPU and the thing is up and running at 160Mhz. The bios
RL> states that it is a 486DX4/132 but all benchmark tests show it to be
RL> clocked at 160Mhz.
RL> LM2 shows, on this computer as
RL> CPU 540
RL> NPU 1244
RL> Video 13653 C/L 5429 1Mb
That's interesting. I just bought and installed one of these
CPU's into my SOYO motherboard.
I'm "only" running it at 150Mhz but am getting similar LM2
figures to your daughter's running at 160Mhz. ie:
CPU 542
NPU 1274
Video 24,576 (VLB ETW32 2Mb)
