My first modem came with a Compuserve introductory package. That was many
years ago. I was pleased with the availability of their lines. I don't
remember ever getting a busy signal. I called often (about twice a day)
UNTIL the friggin 25cent connection fee per call started adding up. Think
of it, if I had continued, that connection fee alone would have amounted to
US$170 per year. Insane.
I tried to reduce my usage to about once a week. But even then, the $25/hour
fees took a big bite out of my wallet every month. Naturally, I gradually
moved my communications interests to BBSing and internet gateways. Never
regretted leaving Compuserve since.
Does Compuserve still have that 25 cent connection fee?
