From: "Frank Haber" I went through that three-step update dance, too. .NET seems totally benign here, though, on the one testbed I permit it. Of course, that's also my one SP2 machine, and that's terminally balky at networking still, even though Firewall is off, and that patch we talked about last month is denied it, and your reg-patch is installed. The bad behavior came back. I can't pin down any one precipitating event, but hey, that's XP. Anybody else starting to smell the odor of a decaying code base, old way before its time? I'm guessing the weight of all those security Band-Aids is dragging down a design that was supposed to be an open breezeway to the net.
