Maybe you didn't notice where Geo had to do (I think) two Windows Updates
after installing the runtime. Were these to correct security bugs, or just
to correct other kinds of bugs?

The principle that "code complexity = system insecurity" applies.

Of course when .net is fully debugged, and when it can inspire a little
more confidence, it will be terrific (if it proves more robust than, say,
IE).
