And if you're running on any modern Intel processor, the microcode itself
can be considered another level of abstraction.  And if you're running on
an Itanic, may God have mercy on your soul, etc.

See, all the P-System needed was more CPU, and no pre-allocation.

Of course, when the filesystem is itself a database, it does make it a bit
dicey to hand-recover munged data at the sector level (g).
