I wondered, too. But they're not claiming to produce "useful" amounts
of energy.

But electric potential is. Maybe the "energy" was put in as a result of
a bit of sloppy usage.

-> 25 V/m is not a strong field. Certainly not enough to strip electrons.

You didn't notice the "n". 25 volts per *nano* metre, or 25 GV/m.
