It's quite simple: 
    PARALLEL MONO means that you only have to use one input that feeds
  both amplifier-sides which you connect to different cabinets (you
  don't need the Y-adapter any longer).
    BRIDGED means that the stereo-amp works like a powerfull mono-amp
  with both sides' hot-pins to use _only_ (check manual...).
A typical application for PARALLEL MONO is two stacks each side with
one amp driving the bass-bins, another one the two mids and a third
one the high frequency-drivers.
The amps in parallel mode are connected to the x-over with one cable
each.
