Hi David,
You wrote to Roger Scudder:
DVH>-> DVH> I have all the known C compilers for OS/2 and DOS.
DVH>->
DVH>-> Really? All known, huh? Very impressive, indeed.
DVH>Here is what I have which isn't GNU:
DVH>MicroSoft Visual C++ v4.0 & v5.0
DVH>Borland C++ v4.00,
DVH>Borland C++ for OS/2 v2.0.
That is but a small selection of the commercial C compilers for the PC
Platform. There are at least 6 more (see below)
DVH>GNU Compilers:
DVH>Linux (Can't remember)
DVH>OS/2 v0.9c w/ upgrade
DVH>DOS 272.1 & 280
DVH>Windows 95 Not sure (Don't use much)
DVH>Windows NT Not sure (Don't use much)
DVH>I don't have the Watcom compiler.. That's about it unless you know of
DVH>other compilers that I didn't mention.
There are lots of others for the PC platform!
I have here (not includeing ones you already own):
TopSpeed C (DOS & OS/2 V1.x) (no longer being developed)
Zortech (DOS & Win 3.1 & OS/2 1.x) (now Symantec V7.0: DOS, Windows)
IBM Visualage C++ V3 for OS/2
Watcom V11 (DOS, DOS32, Win 3.1, Win 95, Win NT)
There are also:
Mix Power C (DOS).
IBM Visualage C++ V3.5 for NT
Metaware - High C/C++ (Versions for DOS32, OS/2, Windows)
The other thing to remember is that there are platforms other than the
IBM PC compatibles with C compilers, and very few of the compiler
vendors on the PC platform provide compilers for other platforms (IBM
are one of the exceptions, providing them for their minis and
mainframes), so there are several times as many compilers again to be
considered as topical for this echo. It is, after all, the C_Echo :-)
