I agree. I try always to remember the things I heard early in my
recovery:
1. There are no "musts" in AA (although there are some "pretty darn well
betters").
2. "These are the steps which are SUGGESTED as a program of recovery".
3. When a new member told Bill W. that he was having a problem with the
"spiritual" part of the program, Bill responded with, "Can you tell me
which part of the program is NOT the spiritual part?"
