If you need a document based upon a specific template that can be opened
without using File | New from inside word, then first create the template.
Then open the template itself in word. Then do a file save as in Word and
save the template as document in another directory. You have to change the
type of thing line in the save as dialog to word doc from word template
when you do the save as. Mark that new doc file as read only. Then you
can call it from the command line so to speak, but when you go to save
changes you'll get a save as dialog box so the original document based upon
the template isn't over-written with the changes.
