I was arguing more along the lines regarding the comment that an author
(who publishes radio mod books) would not simply disregard an expensive
radio just because alot of readers would not have such a radio because
of its expense. I could see if an author could not buy the radio (ICOM
R-9000 him/herself to find out new mods, but assuming he already had one
in his posession.. it would be very stupid not to include it in a book
(specifically because no other book as of yet has a mod for that scanner).
Despite what some people think, authors unlike many of the other greedy
people of the world are not solely motivated by money, and they would
not simply ignore the r-9000 for the false reason that "readers wouldnt
want to see that kind of thing, cause it wouldnt be veluable to most people".
On the contrary, in the publishing industry, and especially from the authors
perspective (authors unlike publishing companies dont really give a damned
about how many books they sell or how "marketable it is.. an author just
wants to write a "good book which pleases people") uniqe and rare info
is valuable (hence an R-9000 mod WOULD be a valuable asset to publish).
