it's not the time that bothers me, it's the fact that I go to the MS site,
install .NET frameworks and it's not even current. If I hadn't gone back
for directX9 I may never have known I had just exposed myself to a number
of security issues I didn't have before visiting their site.
People don't realize that Microsoft expects customers to keep their
machines current but Microsoft doesn't keep their downloads current. I went
backwards to an unpatched state by accepting one of the downloads from
windowsupdate. That to me makes NO sense at all. You go to windowsupdate to
get current, to get secure and stay secure, it should not make you less
secure by allowing exploitable software to be installed.
