AB>Ya, but don't forget, this was 1970. Nobody Cared. Don Yenko had an
outside
Sure. The only point I was trying to make is that, particularly with
s/b Chevys, you can swap parts around pretty easily. I just can't
see putting something together with a mis-matched set of rods when it
is pretty easy to find a decent set and trade off whatever you got.
Sometimes you just don't get lucky or you just can't find what you need,
but more often you can find somebody to swap. If the shop a guy is
dealing with doesn't want to help out, maybe it's time to find another
shop .... ?
AB>Back on my uncles farm, there is a complete 327 Chevy w/tranny
sitting in the dirt since 1977. Along with 2 460 ford's that joined
it around 1980. They where just another engine at the time. They ran,
but had no engine bay to call home anymore.
There are still plenty of cores like that sitting around, especially
motors that aren't real popular right now (like 327s and 460s), but even
350s. A lot of times you can pick up a complete 327 for just a few bucks
if you just get it out of somebody's back yard. (I have got plenty of
them that way .... )
