Welcome to rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info!

rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info (RSPWI) came into being April, 1996 as a
low-volume alternative to its parent, rec.sport.pro-wrestling (r.s.p-w).
The subject matter is defined by the RSPWI Charter, written by Scott Keith
when he proposed the newsgroup:

  CHARTER: rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info

     Rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info will be devoted only to informational
  postings about the sport of professional wrestling.  Discussion will take
  place in rec.sport.pro-wrestling (or rec.sport.pro-wrestling.misc,
  depending on the outcome of the vote).  While the actual content of the
  newsgroup will be at the moderator's discretion, the following is a
  partial list of things deemed to be universally accepted as "info" by the
  group as a whole:

  - Hotline rumors
  - Pay-Per-View results
  - News stories relating to wrestling
  - House show reports
  - TV show summaries
  - Reviews of wrestling-related video games
  - The RSPW Welcome message, posted every 3-4 weeks
  - The RSPW FAQ, posted every 3-4 weeks (A Mini-Faq more often?)
  - Wrestling Title Holders lists (posted every 2-3 months)
  - Wrestlers' Real Name list (posted every 2-3 months)
  - Wrestlers' Obituary list (posted every 2-3 months)
  - Schedules of House shows and major PPVs.
  - Other lists (e.g., Major PPV description lists [e.g., Wrestlemania and
Clash match listings], wrestling moves, etc.)(posted periodically)
  - Histories (e.g., Vince McMahon's activities during the 1980s, the
development of the NWA, etc.) (posted periodically)
  - Breaking News and follow-ups (posted as necessary)
  - Miscellaneous Info (things that we haven't considered yet)

      In addition, certain long-standing opinion/information posts would be
  included, such as:

  - Herb Kunze's "Wrestling Tidbits"
  - Mark Bureau's "Bu's Views"
  - As well as others too numerous to list at once.

      It should be noted that RSPW.info is intended as a *supplement* to the
  main newsgroup, not as a replacement, as many newer posters have feared.

To submit an article to RSPWI, send it as you normally would for any other
newsgroup, or email to .  Turnaround time for submissions
is dependent on the moderator's ability to be online as well as propogation
times from the news servers acting as injection points, but should generally
be a few hours.

All articles posted to RSPWI will automatically be crossposted ro r.s.p-w as
well as rec.sport.pro-wrestling.moderated (RSPWM aka "the Mod")
with followups
set to r.s.p-w and the Mod unless requested by the author.

Use of META tags in the Subject: line is HIGHLY encouraged.  For example,
[WCW] or [WWF] for articles involving a particular federation (ie news,
show results) or [NEWS] or [INFO] for articles of a more general nature.
