NB> For Christmas, my wife bought me a Radio Shack "super accurate auto-
NB> set digital clock" (cat. # 63-970) that sets

 NB> WWV broadcasts on 5, 10, 15, and 20 MHz, and WWVB
NB> transmits on 60 KHz. Judging from the fact that it
NB> uses a ferrite rod antenna, and that reception is
NB> better at night, night, and that, as far as I know
NB> WWV doesn't transmit any type of "packet,"
NB> "telemetry" or "compuerter data" on their signals,
NB> I believe it is actually picking up WWVB. The
NB> owners manual says "WWV," but it doesn't make any
 NB> mention of frequency.

   I believe there's a 100hz subcarrier on all the WWV/WWVH broadcasts with
time and date information.

WWVB consists of nothing but such information, on its carrier. (Working
from menory, now. I do have the exact information somewhere...)
