Must be pretty good life as standard?

If that's a traditional clock and watchmaker, they might have a lathe good
small enough to turn a new screw, if they can work out its dimensions.
OTOH, maybe a polite e-mail to Palm would be in order...

They might be going for ones that are out of copyright, to avoid costs. I
didn't realise there were quite so many versions, though. I should have
thought a complete version would be a major undertaking.

Only read the first one...

CBIP: (only a few pages yet) RIVER OF GODS by Ian MacDonald
This is the one that author and critic Adam Roberts has suggested is
the best candidate for the UK's Clarke award for SF.
Just finished: THE NO. 1 LADIES' DETECTIVE AGENCY by Alexander McCall
     Smith
Someone who isn't much of a reader recommended this, on top of plenty
of good publicity. It's full of adult problems, yet written rather
like quite an old-fashioned children's book
Just finished: THE LOST STRADIVARIUS by J. Mead Falkner
