Tim, I read your post and found it very thought provoking. Some points I
 was not aware of..
 I can see the need for some type of change, but I'm not sure that tearing
 everything down and rebuilding is the answer...not sure what the answer is.
 To bad New York can't, at least, add some admendments to the Big Book...
 As for the ego discussion, I understand what it is like to have no ego, 
 and to try to deflate what is not there is not the way to go...building up
 an ego should be first and foremost...
 I think AA works because caring individuals work with other individuals
 and they are what helps make it work...they tailor the steps to the new
 individuals needs...
 Just my opinion.
