I bought a lot of 100 foot rolls of film back then. Plus and Tri X, had a constant free supply of Pan X from other sources, so didn't buy bulk in that. My arms outstretched will measure off around forty exposures of 35, Whack it off, put a tape on the end and roll it up in the container. Remember the reusable canisters Kodak film came in back then. Hit the protrusion on the tabletop and the other end popped off. Today you need a can opener I think. I have six Nikon bulk film canisters laying around here, but the foam rubber in the plastic film cans has gone to crap and stuck on the bottom of most of them. It would take quite a while to clean should I ever decide to do that again. The Nikons were great canisters because when you closed the lock on the camera back, you opened the canister so the film ran freely from one spool to the other without going through any light protecting stuff. Trouble with the reusable Kodaks, and I still have a few of them laying about, was the felt would pick up grit and scratch the film if you weren't careful, plus the motor drive would run the film fast enough to cause static sparks from the felt in very cold places. I used a Nikor tank that held four 35 reels, two 120 reels at a time and often had the darkroom looking like a single woman's bathroom with film instead of stockings hanging all over. Anyway the gun camera infrared was processed in the same soup as the Ektachrome, which I also bought in 100 foot rolls. Thinking back to all that stuff makes me really love my digital and DV today. PCV> Piper Christian PCV> KC8TEZ Have you ever been pirated posting your call on the web like that? I was, fellow in Royal Oak started using mine on the repeater, then when I raised a stink it quit. But a couple years later I got a call from an observer out in Iowa that someone was using my call out there. Finally with his help had the guy tracked down and arrested. CBers aren't to smart using an 8 land call in 7 land. :-) ... Some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
