If lack of funds is justification for theft, perhaps I should go out and
steal a new Ferrari! Sorry, thieves have used that excuse since time began.
It may (or may not) be valid when the stolen object is a necessity, but
software hardly falls into that category. You're not stealing a loaf of
bread, you're stealing, at best, educational materials or, at worst, simply
something to play with.
You're not Jean Valjean, you're simply a thief with the ability to
rationalize his theft.

With all I do, I can't afford games, so guess what? I don't have very many!
I realize that's probably an unthinkable alternative to you, but I manage to
deal with it and so can you.
The bottom line is if you couldn't afford the software, you shouldn't have
gotten the computer. If you buy a car, knowing that you can't afford gas,
does that justify siphoning gas from your neighbor's fuel tank? You appear to
be saying yes, I say no!
