I had a pair that turned out to be two females(luvbirds). They kept
laying and buiding nests over the eggs till they were right up to the
top of the nest box. There were so many eggs thats how I knew it was
two females. Never figured out if they knew the eggs weren't fertile
or just liked what they were doing.
