Hello All!
Grrr... these Clipper patch procedures are driving me nuts!
To get to the point:
1) I (re!)installed the original 5.3 International version
2) When attempting to install the 5.3a (IE) patch, this is what the log file
says:
***** First:
ÄÄÄÄÄ Processing Patch File ÄÄÄÄÄ
Creating New System using Temporary Files
Applying MODIFY File Patch for 'CLIPPER.EXE'
Updating File's Time/Date/Attribute Information
Applying ADD File Patch for 'OPTEDIT.EXE'
Adding New File
Verifying - Passed!
***** Then, in the same run:
[snipped lot of successful files]
Applying MODIFY File Patch for 'CLIPPER.EXE'
Warning wpt0036: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was
found. No update done since file contents do not match.
[snipped lot of successful files]
Applying MODIFY File Patch for 'OPTEDIT.EXE'
Warning wpt0036: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was
found. No update done since file contents do not match.
[snipped lot of successful files]
***** I now have in the BIN directory:
clipper exe³ 204697³28-02-97³ 15:47
optedit exe³ 96316³28-02-97³ 15:47
Contrary to what file CLIP53A.TXT says, this is the date of the attempted
upgrade, not 20 May 1996.
Previous versions were:
CLIPPER.EXE ³ 204697³26-06-95³ 5:30
no OPTEDIT.EXE
This looks very 'unsuccessful' to me (equal file sizes).
Does anybody know what is going on,
and how I could possibly force a proper upgrade of these files?
(if someone has these two files properly upgraded (International edition!),
an email with two file attachments would quickly help me)
Thanks,
Jan
