That's OK. Honestly, you can't easily answer a question like "what =
is X designed for". One reason is that the question is more why than
= what. Another is that the motivation to create something does not tell =
you what ultimately is created or how it evolves. To answer the what = for
the .NET Framework you can say that it is Microsoft's implementation = of
international standards from ECMA and ISO. Of course it is more than =
that both because it is a superset and because that alone doesn't tell =
you when or why you might choose this over alternatives.
