The officer would bear the liability as long as you were following
instructions and you didn't do something completely "Hillbilly Wild ***
Crazy".

We saw a good example of this today on the news on the Washington Beltway.
First, the good samaritan laws work fine unless you do something "Hillbilly
Wild *** Crazy". Second, it is the law in many jurisdictions that you
stop and render aid. If you are laying somewhere bleeding to death, I wonder
if the thoughts of the above paragraph will go through your mind again.
