subject: New ROM for SupraFAXModem (int & ext) V116:41:2007/12/96

Hello All,
This new ROM-upgrade is as of today frequable on my system (2:285/255.1
31-13-4636984).
Put a statement in your fdnode.ctl (or a similar file if you're using another
mailer) as follows:
phone 2:285/255.1 31-13-4636984
After you put this in, compile the nodelists and you're able to filerequest
n
my system in the future.
The following upgrades are available:
12014414.zip SupraFAXModem V34 extern (magic-name SUPRAV34)
12114414.zip SupraFAXModem V34 intern
12914414.zip SupraFAXModem V34 intern PNP
There's no new code for the SupraSONIC available yet (except the 1.440-12
code)
These are sb7-files and must be uploaded to your modem with the X-Modem
protocol (instructions how to do this are in the archive).
*BE˙AWARE*
You must first upgrade your modem with the 1.440-12 code before you can use
this newer code !!!
-= Changes between the Supra 288 1.44-12 and the 1.440-14 ROM Code =-
   8 July 1996 (ALJ)
1) A problem in the retrain code could cause a lockup if a hangup
    was initiated during a retrain.
2) The %Q2 stats were being cleared during disconnect on models with
    2 character LED displays. (SUP1201 and SUP1281)
3) The default setting of the ESR command on SupraFAXModems has been
    changed to 1 from 0.
4) Most of the %Q1 connection information is now available after
a call is terminated. The EQM, RX signal level and TX signal
level are only available while connected, the availability of
other information depends on the connection type.
5) CONNECT messages with the DTE rate were incorrect for DTE
    rates 16800, 21600, 24000, 26400, 28800, 31200, and 33600.
6) After a connection ends the %Q2 command will print the disconnect
    reason (S86) as text.
7) A problem in the LAPM code was fixed, it could cause disconnects
during long connections at high data rates.
8) A problem connecting to some other products on lines
with very little attenuation was fixed.
(When the connection failed the remote would emit a
    continuous high frequency tone.)
9) When the display is in debug mode (S194.1=1) models
with displays will indicate when LAPM REJ and SREJ
    frames are received or transmitted.
On models with LED displays (SUP1201, SUP1281) receiving REJ or
SREJ frame will cause a "TE" (transmission error) display.
Transmitting a REJ or SREJ frame will cause a "RE" (receive
     error) display.
On models with LCD displays (SUP1331) receiving a REJ will
cause a "RX REJ" display. Receiving a SREJ will cause a
"RX SREJ" display. Transmitting a REJ will cause a "TX REJ"
display. Transmitting a SREJ will cause a "TX SREJ" display.
NOTE: The "RE"/"TE" displays on the SUP1201 and SUP1281 do not
have the exact same meaning they used. "TE" used to mean
that LAPM I frames were being retransmitted, this could be
due to the remote modem receiving frames with CRC errors
or due to the remote modem discarding I frames when in a
flow controlled state. So some old "TE" displays didn't
indicate problems with the link, that flow control was
           occuring.
10) In Synchronous Access mode EM characters with the high bit set
   were not being decoded correctly.
All, regards & take care,
Henk (e-mail: henk.loosbroek@pi.net) [PGP KeyID: 9032BB1D]
