David....
Timeslips Corporation has a software package, in
several flavours called Timeslips. I own Timeslips Deluxe
for Windows (Version 6), which is incidentally their
top-of-the-line package for tracking time (I found it dirt
cheap and couldn't resist). I read some really excellent
reviews about the package in Computer Shopper. Here's an
extract right out the book:
"Timeslips is for anyone who needs to account accurately for
his or her time, bill clients or projects for services, and
track receivables on those clients. It's a sophisticated
database manager that automates crucial professional tasks,
like tracking time and expenses, printing custom bills,
recording client transactions, managing multiple projects,
and maintaining a clear audit trail. It is also a tool to
analyze the financial and performance aspects of your
service-oriented business.
Timeslips does all this without requiring you to change your
work style or become a bookkeeper. It quickly becomes an
indispensable part of your daily work.
- Have a client on the phone? Use TSTimer to time the call
and jot notes.
- Returning from a trip? Just enter your travel costa and
other expenses.
- Spend hours writing an analysis? Tell Timeslips who's
paying for it.
- Want to analyze your Timeslips data? Run a report or
export the data to a spreadsheet.
- Need to know who's the most productive professional this
month? Timeslips knows.
Timeslips is there when you need it and your invoices have
more detailed and accurate information.
Timeslips grows and adapts to your needs. It lets you add
new users or clients, change billing rates, re-design your
bill, and modify activities or expenses on the fly. In fact,
Timeslips will allow up to 250 of your colleagues (depending
on the version) handle 30,000 clients and their projects
with up to 250 distinct activities or expenses. You can also
attach special notes to each client's record."
I must admit.... IMHO there's lots of over-kill on what is
considered chargable, and this application doesn't miss a
thing. Guess I'm giving freebies away. At any rate,
here's there BBS number: (508)768-7581. You can also access
them from CompuServe: GO TIMESLIPS; or AOL: keyword
TIMESLIPS. My manual doesn't show they have a WWW page, but
now days... who doesn't? I'm sure if you use a search
engine, you'll be able to find them.
Hope this helps.... you might be able to get a "Demo"
package from them to check their applications out. At any
rate, good luck and good hunting.
Regards, W. Wagner
