Have you spoken with them? If they told you this, then they are mistaken.
This has been covered a half dozen times in tpg. A defensive gun use can
occur after the danger becomes apparent and before a crime is initiated.
The NCVS question tree asks about dgu's after the initiation of a crime
only, not after the danger becomes apparent.
