That doesn't seem right.
Are you rotating your bitmaps in allocated memory or in
video RAM? You might look into creating a table of sin and
cos values, also, to speed things up a bit.
I've never done any of this myself, but it seems it should be
faster. Could you post an example to play with perhaps?
