MR> sorry if i didnt respond

Would you use your shirt for stopping someone from bleeding to death? That
would be your property, and it probably would be ruined. Would you place a
price on a human life for the use of something that belongs to you? If so,
what would that price be? We already know that the cost of your vehicle is
too much, however much that would be.
I saw part of a news story today about an overturned vehicle on the
Washington Beltway and a critically injured woman laying in the road. It was
rush hour traffic and nobody stopped to help her. Everyone was in too much of
a hurry to stop and help or even call for help. All of those folks who passed
by don't deserve to be called human, much less a citizen. A Sgt. in the
Military finally stopped and did everything he could to help her, keep the
traffic off of her, and stop someone to call 911. He said she was covered
with blood, and the only way he knew she was a woman was by looking at her
shoes. According to the Sgt., many people gave him the finger and cursed him
as they went by because of their inconvenience. Someone shouted, "get that
garbage off the road." I wonder if they were talking about the woman also.
This is a sickening report about the value of human life and the complete
disregard for a human being desperately needing help. They call the Sgt. a
hero for helping her, but this is a civic duty required by law in many
places. It's also sad that we would need to consider making it the law to be
a decent human being and stop to help a possibly dying person.
I'm glad that you decided against a career in law enforcement. Your messages
indicate you don't have the heart for it. I'm glad that you decided to make
something of yourself, so what are you doing for a living?
