subject: Too long letter = frozen program?

Today an extremely long letter arriving in an area caused Squish to
'freeze'. The computer responded to a soft reset (ctrl-alt-del), but noting
else.

The error was reproduceable when attempting to toss the packet again. After
having decreased the buffer sizes the long letter was discarded without
other problems.

The buffers was not larger than the memory could have accomodate them and
the node has operated for a long time with the actual settings: Buffers 26
40 40

Do any of You have a auggestion how to avoid his in the future? What about
the protected mode version running under a DOS-extender? Is that verison
reliable and compatible with a system running EMM386.SYS and Novell NetWare
Lite loaded in high memory?

A great Thanks in advance, //Haakan
