So...if they run out of transporter credits, you can envision a scene
where Dr Crusher needs to beam down and save a colony of a few million
people:  "I'm sorry, docotor, but you are out of credits, you can't go
down there"... is that how that would work? I was under the impression
that credits were the 24th centurey version of the Marxist dollar, used
only for luxruies, not nessessities.
